DMITRY BLINOV (Brand ambassador)

Dmitry’s career in hospitality began in his home town of Saint Petersburg, where as a teenager he took a kitchen porter position at a restaurant then known as Petropavlovski, situated within the city’s railway staiton. Enraptured by the energy and pace of kitchen life, an ambitious Dmitry decided to try out a job as a chef. Within five years he was running the kitchen there. It was during his time at Petropavlovskii that he had the opportunity to work alongside Feliks Mamin, a chef revered in Saint Petersburg at the time and one of Dmitry’s greatest inspirations of his career so far. In 2014, along with good friend and fellow chef Renant Malikov, Dmitry made the bold move to go solo so opened 24-cover city centre restaurant Duo Gastrobar. Despite the Russia important ban imposed on agricultural produce that very same year, Dmitri saw the opportunity to work freely with Russia’s range of home-grown produce as a positive and has since hugely influenced his culinary style.   Keen to branch out and open a second restaurant specialising in raw dishes, in 2016 Dmitri opened Tartar Bar, a restaurant he often describes as Duo’s ‘more grown-up sibling.’
