The 3rd edition of St Petersburg’s summer gastronomic festival returns this June

The historic city of St. Petersburg is set to host the third edition of its annual Gourmet Days festival this June. The project, which set out in 2017 to showcase the city’s celebrated contemporary dining scene has grown each year and now established itself as a culinary highlight in the city’s magical White Nights event (a season where the sun never sets).

Following on the tradition set by the city’s Economic Forum and supported by the Government of St Petersburg and the City Tourism Board, Gourmet Days set out, through international chef collaborations with its creative and dynamic dining scene, to place this northern Russian capital firmly on the global gastronomic stage and celebrate it as one of the most beautiful, evolving and exciting travel destinations.

This year the festival enters a new chapter, with even more varied dining options for both citizens and visitors alike. The 2019 agenda includes special set menus at some of the city’s finest restaurants; the ever popular, visiting chef collaboration dinners; an intense two days of industry related talks; plus, the exciting launch of the Debut Party, unveiling the city’s most promising young chefs.

Gourmet Days is proud to announce also that The Singleton, a prized single malt whisky from Scotland and Acqua Panna and S. Pellegrino mineral waters from Italy, are sponsoring the festival as one of their global gastronomic events for 2019.

Twelve local restaurants will bring together representatives of the international hospitality industry in what has become the festival’s signature collaboration dinners. This year will host some of the most interesting and creative global chefs: Richie Lin (Mume, Taiwan); Ivan Brehm (Nouri, Singapore); Diego Rossi (Trippa, Milan); Douglas McMaster (Silo, Brighton, UK); Josh Angus (Hide, London); Atsushi Tanaka (A.T, Paris); Thitid Tassanakajohn (Le Du, Bangkok), Joaquim Saragga Leal (Taberna Sal Grosso, Lisbon); Jordy Navarro (Toyo Eatery, Manila); Óscar Calleja (Annua, San Vicente, Spain); Tim Butler (Eat Me, Bangkok); Arlette Eulert (Matria, Lima).

This year St Petersburg’s participating chefs and restaurants are: Igor Zorin (The Repa / Terrassa), Hezret-Arslan Berdiev (Birch), Dmitry Bogachef (Mr.Bo / Mansarda / Gastronomika), Evgeniy Vikentiev (Hamlet+Jacks), Hawan Chong (Sintoho), Alexey Kanevsky (Smoke BBQ), Andrey Kostarev (Gastroli), Dmitry Blinov (Harvest), Maxim Torganov (BeefZavod).

In addition, more than forty restaurants in St. Petersburg, inspired by the festival’s mission, will this year support the project and from June 1 – 16, offer a special tasting menu for a set price of 1500 rubles (USD23).

The two-day Gourmet Talks will take place with the support of Italian coffee company, illy and will feature talks by business leaders, journalists, as well as local and visiting chefs, on the current trends in hospitality and share their global experience.

Restaurant tours will also be a new addition to the St. Petersburg Gourmet Days program – with special routes developed by insiders who will combine itineraries showcasing the city’s cultural, architectural, artistic and food highlights, that will ensure visitors will be keen to revisit this unique city time and again.

A special evening of newcomers - The New Names Party - will complete the program, with organisers presenting the most promising young chefs of the city.
